The debate over Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja's graduation from the University of Nairobi is heating up, despite the fact that the university now owns him as an alumnus. Mr Sakaja is included among nine "notable alumni" in political and high government posts on the University of Nairobi's official website, Faculty of Science and Technology.

"Sakaja Johnson is the current Senator of Nairobi County, having been elected on February 2, 1985. He enrolled at the University of Nairobi and earned a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science. "During his fourth year at UON, Sakaja founded Arthur Johnson Consultants, a financial consulting firm," according to an article on the university's website.
Mr Sakaja's photo has also been included in the post by the institution. His name is number six on the list. Deputy President Dr. William Ruto, Energy and Petroleum Principal Secretary Mr Andrew Nganga, State Department for Fisheries and Blue Economy PS Prof Japheth Ntiba, Samburu West MP Dr. Simeon Lesirma, and former Vice Chancellor Moi University are among the alumni listed.
According to the university, Mr Sakaja pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and graduated on October 21, 2016. Mrakaja showed a degree diploma and transcripts from Team University in Uganda to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) during his clearing.
